Single By Sunday: Scottish Band Writing Its Own Success Story @SingleBySunday

Single By Sunday is writing an amazing success story.

The pop rock band from Glasgow, Scotland, is also defying the odds. They have been together for less than four months, but in that time they have recorded a four song EP that’s set to be released in early 2016.

Already they have nearly 56,000 followers on Twitter and show no signs of stopping.

Single By Sunday isn’t some band put together by a super-producer using culled talent show competitors. This band is four friends who love what they are doing and genuinely love each other.

With Josh Ladds on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Jonny Eakins on lead guitar and vocals, Jorge Wilson on drums and Jack Jesus Black on bass and vocals, Single By Sunday infuses their music with tight sounds, great harmonies and boundless energy.

The lead single “SBS” and video has just been released and is burning up all the social media outlets and YouTube.
The song is bright, bouncy and punchy, and filled with great hooks and riffs.

The vocals are solid and the harmonies well-blended, punctuated by ripping guitar runs. The musical stops and starts add extra oomph.

A short tease they have up for “Get Up Get Out” provides a peak at another song that really rocks in its exuberance. I can only imagine Single By Sunday puts on a quite lively show as the band members seem ooze energy.

The behind-the-scenes videos Single By Sunday made during their recording time in Coventry is well entertaining and provides a wonderful look at the various personalities of each of the lads.

For anyone lucky enough to live in Edinburgh or Glasgow, Single By Sunday have a list of dates through November.

Be sure to show your support of this gifted group.

Hopefully it won’t take long for them to get out of Scotland and play shows all around the world.

  1. I’m the Culture and Travel editor for Clic-Digital and seem to have the authority to throw myself headlong into writing what I think should be being written and I’ll be taking full advantage and covering everything from politics to pantomimes!

For my Culture and Travel sections, I am trying to expand the usual boundaries, along with the dizzying array of festivals, events, social and political lectures using my weirdness and curiosity to find new noises and new ways to showcase them. I would love to feature you guys and sing your praises in word form.

If you’re game, I’d love a ballsy bio/history of your world and what you looking towards for the next few months.

I have attached my super (less obnoxious) questions, some great headshot and underused high res images along with a track of your choosing to add the cover/inspiration sound for #CLICsLIVENOISE.

You can whip something up, in the car/hanging upside down from some monkey bars… I don’t mind!

My last band features: Narrow Plains
    Ed Geater:

    hope to hear from you!

    Culture and Travel editor, Clic-Digital

When and why did you start playing?

    Which instruments do you play?

What was the first tune(s) you learned?

    Vinyl, tape, CD, or digital?

How do you handle a fuck up on stage?

Who or what is your ultimate influence?
What scares you most in the world?

Where and when do you wish you’d been around to play at?

If I gave you an elephant where would you hide it?
What is your colour socks are you wearing?

    Crunchy or smooth?

If you could have anyone locked in a room so that you could torment them for a day, whom would you choose and how would you torment them?

Please send me a video/audio of you covering a tune for #CLICsLIVENOISE…as raw as you like.

Send over any news, tracks and images that you’d like including.
